The University of Benin (UNIBEN), in Benin City, Edo state has approved the appointment of Mr Ademola Bobola as the substantive Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Institution.
A statement made available to CAMPUS GIST on Thursday issued by the University spokesperson, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, said the appointment was ratified by the institution’s Governing Council.
“Mr Bobola succeeds Mrs. O. A. Oshodin who retired in May, 2020. However, due to the restriction of conducting physical interview for the post of a substantive Registrar as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr Clarkson Ehigiator has been holding brief as acting Registrar.”
Mr. Bobola, whose appointment takes effect from the 1st of April 2021, holds, among other qualifications, a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics from Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Education degree in English from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.
He was a Deputy Registrar at the Federal University of Technology, FUTA, Akure, Ondo State, and the pioneer Registrar of Mountain Top University, Ogun State. Mr Bobola is currently the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State.
He is a member of several professional bodies.
He is married with children.
